FERS Pre-Retirement Seminar:
2-Day Course Description

Focus

This seminar is tailored specifically for FERS employees who plan on retiring within the next five years. Although the material is the same as the New Hire and Mid-Career seminars, the focus and depth of each section is considerably different. We extensively cover what changes post-retirement to better prepare employees for the transition. Examples include:

  • TSP: Enhanced focus on distribution, less focus on accumulation

  • Medicare: Enhanced focus on how FEHB interfaces with Medicare Part B

  • Social Security: Greater detail on features and sample filing strategies

Purpose

The purpose of this seminar is to educate FERS employees on their benefits and how they can be used to help build a comfortable retirement. The information covered in the session is purely educational in nature and is not designed to provide specific financial investment advice.

Instructor Experience

Many of our team members hold the designation of Charted Federal Employee Benefit Consultant (ChFEBC℠). This designation covers various topics that provide a comprehensive understanding of the benefits federal employees receive throughout their career.

We do offer both 1-Day and 2-Day versions of the Pre-Retirement seminar for your convenience.

The 2-day version is preferred. We are able to spend more time on each section and provide more details, examples, and helpful anecdotes. This helps ensure that those attending the class are able to retain as much knowledge as possible.
